The SMB and SMC connector series (Subminiature B, C) correspond to miniature connectors. Based on the same internal design. The only difference between the two series is the male-female coupling mechanism. This will provide different mechanical and electrical characteristics. In the SMB coaxial connector series, the male-female coupling is realized by means of fast system “snap-on”.
SMB coaxial connectors
It is used mainly in connections inside high frequency equipment, where there is a high density of connections and where the coupling mechanism facilitates the interconnection. SMB connectors are suitable for applications up to 4 GHz.
