In many occasions, our products are related to the union of solid pieces, thought to make possible the assembly of machinery. In order to find a solution to this problem, it is necessary to carry out an energy transformation that, although it is now conceived in a simple way, has its work to do.

It is at this point that our connectors and contacts Alfa´R come into play, as this transformation task requires the management and modification of the electrical network for which a network of substations is required and which, of course, is satisfied with the quantity of products of this type and many others.

These are interconnected via alternating current, arriving to them, in the case of our country, 15000 volts, through a red wiring that we see in the tunnels easily when we travel. In this way, in the event of a failure in one substation, the others can support it, thus forming a redundant system.

In any case, we have a medium voltage energy that goes to a rectifier substation, which is responsible for stabilizing the voltage as well as making the voltage is lower to operate on line, 600 or 1500 volts. It is also at this point that the current changes from alternating to direct.

Once again, we contribute our grain of sand with the installation of feeders, which are the ones that carry that power to the laying cable of the meter. Its section is variable, being chosen according to two parameters: Distance to travel and tension. Here we also find disconnectors, which allow the current to reach the train through the pantograph and, in this way, feed the train’s equipment.

Finally, know that the vicinity also work in the same way but with a conversion of energy to 3000 volts, which is necessary in the Iberian string.
