The UHF or Ultra High Frequency connector is that used to work in the 300 MHz to 2 GHz band of the electromagnetic spectrum, where propagation by tropospheric space wave is achieved. This is attenuated to the decibel if the Fresnel 1 zone is cleared.

The UHF frequency band 860 to 960 MHz is used to identify products. The transmitting power is less than 200? W and the antennas have a thickness that is counted in microns.

What is the UHF connector like?

These types of connectors are generally threaded, have anti-rotation characteristics and are quite robust.

The use impedance is not defined and usually starts from 50 Omhios to never exceed 300 MHz. This is how you get a good VSWR.

Today’s high-end cable devices use HDMI connections to deliver high-definition video quality with 5.1 surround sound. This is the case, for example, with Home Cinema systems, digital cable decoders, audio receivers or HDTVs.

However, if you don’t have a cable for these connections, you can always use a digital coaxial cable to convert this signal. Next, we will explain the steps for converting the digital signal to 5.1 sound.

How to convert digital coaxial signal to 5.1 sound

We begin with the first step

First of all, the digital coaxial cable must be positioned on the back of the decoder with the digital cable or Blu-ray or DVD player. If you have knowledge of the subject, you will see that there is a unique RCA entry, where ‘Digital coaxial‘ is read. This digital coaxial cable will be distinguished from the rest of the wiring by its orange color.

Next, we take the other end of the coaxial connector and connect it to the back of the audio receiver or home theater audio system. If you look again, you will see an RCA cable entry on the back of the device with a ‘Digital Coaxial‘ label.


Switch to the configuration part

This is when you have to turn on the player you are going to use, either DVD or Blu-ray, or even a digital cable decoder. At the same time, you will also need to have your TV on. To complete the entire connection, you must also switch on the surround sound receiver 5.1 or the home theatre system.

In short, we must turn on all the transmitters and receivers that are going to intervene in the signal conversion. It is recommended to follow the order indicated above so that unnecessary sounds are not coupled and it is tested if the implantation has been done well.

Now you must take the remote control or remote control system that comes with your home theatre system or audio receiver. Then, you must search and choose the secondary entrance. This input corresponds to the digital coaxial audio. If you look for it, as a general rule, in most systems this button will be referred to as ‘SA-CD/CD‘.

Finally, you should look for the menu option in your remote control or remote control device. Sometimes the menu can be found directly on the audio receiver itself or in the Home Theatre system. Once selected, the volume of each speaker can be adjusted individually. This independent operation prevents undesirable noise from occurring after the connection has been made to work.

Many people wonder what a coaxial connector N is. Well, it is a type of threaded connector for a coaxial cable, as its name suggests. It operates within a certain type of specifications up to a maximum frequency of 11 GHz.

This type of connector adapts very precisely to a wide variety of medium and small size coaxial cables. It is used both industrially and militarily and can be differentiated between two types of the same: corrugated and standard. Origin and characteristics of coaxial connector N

The creation of coaxial connector N is due to Paul Neill. In fact, the N that gives this type of connector its name is due to the initial of the surname of its creator.

Its origin dates back to the mid-20th century in Laboratorios Bells. The aim of its creator was to develop a robust and stable coaxial cable connector. In addition, Paul Neill wanted it to be resistant to adverse weather conditions and not too large in size.

Another of the requirements that the inventor himself had with regard to his project was that it should have sufficient characteristics to support radio frequencies up to 11 GHz. Thus, the N coaxial connector was the first to have these features and, in turn, the required performance in the microwave band.

This industrial connector has an impedance of 50 omhios. As for the frequency, as we have already mentioned, it oscillates between 0 and 11 GHz. The maximum peak voltage is 1500 watts.

Our visit to the SPS IPC DRIVES 2017 fair in Nuremberg

As we mentioned a few months ago, Alfa’ r Connectors attended the most well-known European trade fair in the automation sector as exhibitors. On this occasion we would like to tell you about our visit to the SPS IPC DRIVES 2017 in Nuremberg, an unforgettable experience from which only positive things have been achieved.

Last November, on the 28th, 29th and 30th of November, we attended the SPS IPC DRIVES trade fair, an event that brings together leading figures in the electrical automation sector. Here we present news regarding software, technologies, in our case, connectors and all types of products related to the sector.

Thus, we had the opportunity and the pleasure to participate in this last edition of 2017, where we exhibited a selection of electrical connectors. Part of our team spent the three days in this beautiful German city on their stand, having the pleasure of having been able to greet and, in many cases meet our customers and a multitude of collaborators.

This experience has allowed us to strengthen ties with former clients and to face some others. This is because we work internationally, which is why with many of them we were never able to meet until the event happened. Similarly, we have met many other professionals in the connectors sector, both competitors and future partners and customers.

In any case, it is clear that the SPS IPC DRIVES fair in Nuremberg has had for us an affectionate and human component that we truly loved. To be able to promote these values is not always easy and this occasion has made us feel different, united in a different way to our clients and, above all, surprised by what events of this type, which seem to be exclusively working, can achieve.

Of course, not all the success of the event has been on an emotional level. It is more than evident that an event of this magnitude and with the experience of the professionals of assembly, coordination and a very long etcetera. it would have to be perfect, as it was. We were able to see how the entire staff was involved in every aspect we could imagine. In this way, the experience has been unforgettable for exhibitors, customers and collaborators alike.

In short, during our visit to the SPS IPC DRIVES trade fair in Nuremberg, we all had the opportunity, as exhibitors, to offer perfect integrated automation solutions.

We have also seen how simple it is to work with colleagues in the sector who, each of them in their own field, have been able to compete fairly with all the others, being able to offer complete electronic automation services to each and every one of the customers, whose needs were, of course, very different.
